Error description
An abend 0C4 / AKEX abend occurs in DFHLDLD1 at offset x'4C6C' on a CLC instruction: D507 7002 561C. The running transaction is the COVG task. Reg7 is loaded from Reg4 (the LDLD1 stack) +2B0 with a bad address. We are attempting to load EYU0VKES (which is at UK43489).

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND 0C4/AKEX in DFHLDLD1 at offset * * X'4C6C' * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** DFHLDLD1 is in the process of scanning a CICSPlex SM load module in order to create the CSECTL control blocks that map the CSECT name, address, version and PTF level for dump formatting. The CICSPlex SM load module has a >MODHEAD identifier followed by a byte of C'E', which CICS incorrectly interprets. It then uses what it thinks is the module size to change the bounds of the scan loop, resulting in an invalid storage address and hence the S0C4 abend. Depending on prevailing conditions, the error does not always result in an S0C4 abend, but will typically produce erroneous output. An example for LD=1: PGM NAME ENTRY PT CSECT LOAD PT. REL. PTF LVL. EYU9VKEC 960E9568 DFHYA650 15E00000 650 DA02/23/ 15E0002A 0VH .Y.000 [email protected] UK44 After the fix is applied this will show: PGM NAME ENTRY PT CSECT LOAD PT. REL. PTF LVL. EYU9VKEC 960E9568 DFHYA650 15E00000 650 Additional keywords: msgDFHLD0001 0C4 ABEND AKEX LD=2 LD=3 LD=ALL
Problem conclusion
DFHLDLD1 and DFHLDDMI have been changed to correctly build the CSECTL control blocks.
