Error description

  • When using the XFCSREQC exit and a RLS outage is encountered
    recieve DFHPC0409 Abends AFCS and AFCS have been issued while
    processing abend AFCS for the same task.
    XFCSREQC (FCFS_EXIT) is driven for a file close due to RLS being
    shutdown. An error occurs within XFCSREQC that leads to FCFS's
    recovery routine (FCFSREC) being driven. Once this routine is
    complete, it drives FCFS_EXIT again causing a loop.

    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An abend in user exit XFCSREQC leads *
    * to recursive abends resulting in CICS *
    *                      terminating with message DFHPC0409.     *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If an unhandled abend occurs while user exit XFCSREQC has
    control, DFHFCFS will enter its recovery routine. This recovery
    routine will eventually drive user exit XFCSREQC again. This
    results in the CICS system entering a recursive loop of abends
    under the same task. This behaviour leads to CICS issuing
    msgDFHPC0409 and terminating.

    Additional Keywords: PC0409 FCFSREC

Problem conclusion

  • DFHFCFS has been altered so that user exit XFCSREQC is not
    driven for an unhandled abend in the exit. In this case,
    DFHFCFS will return an AFCZ disaster abend.
