Error description

  • When CEDF sends a 3270 datastrem to the terminal for the
SQLERRMC field it needs to make sure it is not sending non
EBCDIC characters. Sending non EBCDIC characters is resulting in
a PROG753 error. We should check SQLERRMC and send out a period
x'4B' instead of any non EBCDIC Character.

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
CEDF will display an execution complete screen for an SQL
command, as formatted for display by DB2. If the SQLERRMC
field contains a non-displayable value, CEDF will send it
to the screen causing a PROG755 terminal error and screen
    lock.
ADDITIONAL KEYWORDS: DFHD2EDF PROG753 EBCDIC CEDX

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEDFCB has been altered to replace any non-displayable
characters in a CEDF screen formatted by a TRUE with a
period (X'4B') to avoid a terminal error. The original value
of the character can be seen using PF5 to view working
storage for fields in the SQLCA.
