Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS Users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The CICS region terminates with *
    *                      an abendU1800 and MSGDFHKE1800          *
    *                      following an application abend0CA.      *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    A transaction running on an L8 TCB suffers an abend 0CA. While
    this abend is being processed, the runaway interval is reached
    and CICS attempts to abend the task. DFHKETIX abends the TCB
    with an abend999 and DFHKESTX is called to process the abend and
    issue an abendAICA. However, DFHKESTX is already handling the
    abend0CA and this results in the CICS region being terminated
    with an abend U1800 and message DFHKE1800 being issued.

                         ABEND_999 999

Problem conclusion

  • DFHKETIX has been changed to not issue the abend 999 if flag
    KTCB_KESTX_IN_PROGRESS is on, indicating that DFHKESTX is
    already handling an abend.
