Error description
If a bundle manifest file is changed without reinstalling the BUNDLE resource in CICS then CICS is unable to recover to the old system state on a warm restart. When recovering resource state from the catalog CICS recognises that the new bundle manifest file is different from the old one, and refuses to install the resource. If CICS is warm started a second time then no attempt is made to recover the resource as it is no longer present in the catalog. This can result in confusion. The correct behaviour is for the BUNDLE resource to be installed in the 'failed' state so that it exists in the region but cannot be used. Message DFHRL0119 is issued to report the problem.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message DFHRL0119 is issued and a * * BUNDLE resource is not installed * * on a WARM restart of CICS. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Message DFHRL0119 is issued and a BUNDLE resource is not installed on a WARM start of CICS. This is because a bundle manifest file was changed but the BUNDLE was not re-installed before CICS was shutdown prior to the WARM restart. Additional keywords: msgDFHRL0119
Problem conclusion
DFHRLPK has been altered so that if a bundle manifest file is changed but the BUNDLE is not re-installed, then on a subsequent WARM restart of CICS the BUNDLE will be installed in the 'failed' state. The CICS Transaction Server V4.1 Messages and Codes manual, GC34-7035-00, will be changed as follows: The explanation of message DFHRL0119 will be changed to read: EXPLANATION: The CICS resource life-cycle bundle class, DFHRLPK, failed to re-create the BUNDLE resource bundle_name because of failed consistency checks with the manifest file manifest_file . This indicates that a BUNDLE has changed since it was last installed and that CICS is unable to recover the previously installed version. SYSTEM ACTION: The BUNDLE is created in the DISABLED state. USER RESPONSE: If you want the new version of the BUNDLE to be used then discard the current version and reinstall the BUNDLE.
