Error description

  • The USSHOME system initialization parameter specifies the root
directory for CICS TS files on z/OS UNIX. Although the default
value of /usr/lpp/cicsts/cicsts41 will be set if the USSHOME
system initialization parameter is not specified, it is
considered a useful aid to migration to include this value
explicitly in DFHSIT6$, the CICS-supplied sample SIT.

    * parameter to the DFHSIT6$ sample system *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
The USSHOME system initialization parameter specifies the root
directory for CICS TS files on z/OS UNIX. Although the default
value of /usr/lpp/cicsts/cicsts41 will be set if the USSHOME
system initialization parameter is not specified, it is
considered a useful aid to migration to include this value
explicitly in DFHSIT6$, the CICS-supplied sample SIT.
    .
Also, since the USSHOME parameter will need to be specified in
lowercase, advice has been added to the DFHPA1909, DFHPA1912,
DFHPA1915 and DFHPA1918 messages and the Operations and
Utilities Guide manual on how to enter lowercase values from
    SDSF.

Problem conclusion

  • The USSHOME system initialization parameter has been added to
the DFHSIT6$ sample system initialization table with the default
    value of /usr/lpp/cicsts/cicsts41.
    .
The CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V4R1 CICS Messages and
Codes Guide manual GC34-7035-00 Section "DFHPAnnnn messages" in
"Chapter 1. DFH messages" should be changed as follows:-
    .
The User response for message DFHPA1909 should be changed to:
"Enter the corrected SIT keyword and data on the console. To
enter lowercase data, invoke the System Command Extension
function by typing a / by itself on the SDSF command line, or by
adding a trailing + to a / command, then enter the override
enclosing both the keyword and data in apostrophes, remembering
that the keyword itself must be in uppercase. The command is
still echoed in uppercase in the job log, but SDSF processes the
    value in mixed case.
    .
To bypass type '.END', or just supply a blank line."
    .
    .
The User response for message DFHPA1912 should be changed to:
"On the console enter the corrected SIT override, bypass the
override in error and all overrides that follow by typing
'.END', or supply a blank line to bypass only the override in
    error.
    .
To enter lowercase data, invoke the System Command Extension
function by typing a / by itself on the SDSF command line, or by
adding a trailing + to a / command, then enter the override
enclosing both the keyword and data in apostrophes, remembering
that the keyword itself must be in uppercase. The command is
still echoed in uppercase in the job log, but SDSF processes the
    value in mixed case."
    .
    .
The following paragraph should be appended to the User response
    for messages DFHPA1915 and DFHPA1918:
"To enter lowercase data, invoke the System Command Extension
function by typing a / by itself on the SDSF command line, or by
adding a trailing + to a / command, then enter the override
enclosing both the keyword and data in apostrophes, remembering
that the keyword itself must be in uppercase. The command is
still echoed in uppercase in the job log, but SDSF processes the
    value in mixed case."
    .
    .
The CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V4R1 Operations and
Utilities Guide manual SC34-7002-00 Section "Entering
corrections to parameters at the console" in "Chapter 2.
Starting up CICS regions", section "Overriding systems
initialization parameters during startup" should be changed as
    follows:-
    .
If you have coded PARMERR=INTERACT, and CICS detects a parameter
error, either in the keyword or in the value you have assigned
to it, CICS prompts you to correct the error with message
    DFHPA1909, DFHPA1912, DFHPA1915 or DFHPA1918:
DFHPA1909 'applid' DATA 'data' IS INVALID FOR KEYWORD 'keyword'.
                       RESPECIFY KEYWORD AND DATA.
DFHPA1912 'applid' SIT OVERRIDE 'keyword' IS NOT RECOGNIZED.
                       SPECIFY CORRECT SIT OVERRIDE.
DFHPA1915 'applid' INVALID DATA HAS BEEN DETECTED FOR SIT
                       OVERRIDE 'keyword'. RESPECIFY THE OVERRIDE.
DFHPA1918 'applid' SIT OVERRIDE DATA 'data' IS OUT OF RANGE FOR
                       KEYWORD 'keyword'. RESPECIFY THE OVERRIDE.
    .
CICS prompts you to enter corrections to any errors it finds in
the PARM parameter or the SYSIN data set after it has loaded the
SIT, and as each error is detected. This means that if there is
an APPLID parameter following the parameter that is in error,
either in the PARM parameter or in the SYSIN data set, it is the
APPLID coded in the SIT that CICS displays in messages
    DFHPA1909, DFHPA1912, DFHPA1915 and DFHPA1918.
    .
To enter lowercase data, invoke the System Command Extension
function by typing a / by itself on the SDSF command line, or by
adding a trailing + to a / command, then enter the override
enclosing both the keyword and data in apostrophes, remembering
that the keyword itself must be in uppercase. The command is
still echoed in uppercase in the job log, but SDSF processes the
    value in mixed case.
