Error description

  • A CICS maintained data table resides in an file owning region,
FOR, and is accessed from an application owning region, AOR.
The AOR has statistics turn on, with an interval set. The
statistics report of the AOR will show that the data table
statistics are not getting reset after each interval. For
example, the read counts will increase throughout the collection
period. DFHSTUP will show this, along with other products that
    format CICS statistics reports.
This occurs only for remotely defined data tables, be it user
maintained, UMDT, or CICS maintained, CMDT, data tables.
DFHFCST needs to be changed to reset the data table stats at
    interval collection time.

    ****************************************************************
A17DTRDS which represents the number of read requests against
a given datatable file in not being reset for remote datatables
when the statistics interval determines statistics collection.
This means that A17DTRDS is currently an accumulating total.

The same is also true for A17DTRNF.

Additional Keywords: DFHSTAT DFHSTUP STATINT COLLECT_STATISTICS

Problem conclusion

  • DFHFCST has been altered to ensure that A17DTRDS and A17DTRNF
are reset for remote datatables at each statistics interval.
