Error description
You are using CICS CONFIGURATION MANAGER to alter your TCPIPSERVICE definition to SSL(yes). When you try to change the definition back to SSL(NO), your TSO session gets the following message: - CICPN04F: E PRIVACY OPTION CONFLICTS WITH SSL(NO) OPTION AND IS IGNORED. - This problem is similar to APAR PK76653 Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVRJL
Local fix
CEDA can be used to alter the SSL value
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: It is not possible to use the CEDA * * programmable interface to alter * * the definition of a TCPIPSERVICE * * from SSL(YES) to SSL(NO) if the * * PRIVACY option has an existing * * value for the TCPIPSERVICE. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** If an application is using EXEC CICS LINK DFHEDAP, the CEDA programmable interface, in non-terminal mode, to issue an ALTER command for a TCPIPSERVICE with a value defined for the PRIVACY option, changing the definition to SSL(NO), message 5503: E PRIVACY OPTION CONFLICTS WITH SSL(NO) OPTION AND IS IGNORED is returned to the application and the command is not executed. This is because the existing value for PRIVACY in the CSD record for the TCPIPSERVICE is incompatible with the change to SSL(NO). DFHSPSOV will correct the parameter list and remove the PRIVACY option, but in non-terminal mode there is no opportunity for the application to accept these changes and execute the corrected request. Additional keywords: MSGCA5503 CA5503 MSG5503 DFHCA5503 MSGDFH5503 NODISPLY MSGDFHCA5503
Problem conclusion
DFHSPSOV has been altered so that, for the CEDA programmable interface in non-terminal mode, message 5503 will not be issued if a value exists for PRIVACY for a TCPIPSERVICE for which an ALTER command with SSL(NO) specified is being issued. DFHSPSOV will remove the value for PRIVACY and processing of the ALTER command will proceed.
