Error description

  • This customer has an lu6.2 link to IMS. The customer is
experiencing a problem when CICS binds our snasvcmg first
and then IMS sends in their bind for their snasvcmgr with
different security bits in the bind which did not match
what CICS sent out. CICS puts out message DFHZC4925
reporting this error, but CICS NEVER sends any type of
response back to IMS so they hang on their side.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After MSGDFHZC4925, the IMS SNASVCMGR *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
An APPC connection between IMS (APPC/IMS) and CICS can result in
the IMS SNASVCMG contention winner session (CICS contention
loser) hanging after DFHZOPN has rejected the BIND received by
DFHZBLX and issued message DFHZC4925 due to incompatible
    ATTACHSEC security settings.
Although the BIND was rejected, a negative BIND response was not
    sent to IMS.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS has been changed for the reported problem so that the
invalid security settings result in a negative response to the
    BIND.
