APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A library is defined as critical. It determinates the behaviour
of cics if the library cannot be installed at startup,
a GO or CANCEL message is issued to the operator to decide
whether to override the critically and allow CICS to start, or
to indicate that startup should be failed.
It doesn't happen if the error is caused by an error issued by
security manager, as if the system does not have read access to
a data set in the LIBRARY.

The CICS region has a LIBRARY defined which is marked as
critical. The LIBRARY has a data set defined to it, but if the
owner userid of the CICS region does not have access to the
critical LIBRARY's data set then the CICS region will be abended
with a 913 code. The message DFHLD0702D should have been output
to give the operator the decision to allow the CICS region to
    continue initialization or not.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHLDLB2's recovery routine has been changed to call iproc
fail_if_critical, which will ensure the DFHLD0702D meesage is
issued if the library is critical.
