Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS Users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Attempts to execute EXEC CICS * * INQUIRE RRMS results in an * * AEXZ abend. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** INQUIRE RRMS is being called via an EXEC CICS command which results in a program check and the issue of an AEXZ abend. The problem is related to variations of the following command EXEC CICS INQUIRE RRMS OPENSTATUS where if OPENSTATUS was defined then the problem did not present itself. However, if just EXEC CICS INQUIRE RRMS command was issued then the ABEND occurred. Further, analysis of the code generated after translation of the variation of the command both with OPENSTATUS defined and not defined showed that the same arg0 call was produced for both which was X'3A020000088000000000000000'. It can be seen that the flag for arg1 being present is on. For the situation where OPENSTATUS was not defined and hence arg1 was not defined then the problem occurs. This is because with the arg1 flag on in arg0 and with no valid data at the location of arg1, CICS program checks with the AEXZ abend. In addition, use of a command level program within the CHECK_CICS_COMMAND security call from DFHEIQRR was found to corrupt the EXEC CICS parameter list passed on the inquire command. Additional Keywords: AKEA OC4 SOC4
Problem conclusion
The CICS definition tables have been amended to ensure the translation of EXEC CICS INQUIRE RRMS results in the correct arg0 value. Furthermore, DFHEIQRR has also been amended to avoid the corruption of DFHEIEI_ARG.
