Error description
When upgrading from CICS TS 3.2 to 4.1, the customer defined the 4.1 CSD and repro'd in from the 3.2 CSD. When running an UPGRADE REPLACE against the 4.1 library you receive the following errors: . DFH5142 E COMMAND NOT EXECUTED. DFHワ0VZ WAS NOT UPDATED BECAUSE OF A PREVIOUS UPDATE FAILURE. DFH5286 E UNABLE TO CREATE RESOURCE DEFINITION ON CSD FILE: DELETE GROUP(DFHワ0VZ) ALL The problem can be resolved by doing a DFHCSDUP VERIFY against the 3.2 CSD prior to the repro. . However, the problem is with the VERIFY command, there was a change made to DFHDM09 because of a new warning message being issued when DFHDM09 was compiled under the new PLX compiler. The result of the change is that the code which attempts to tidy up any outstanding locks is bypassed and so the locks are still in place when the UPGRADE is executed.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The DFHCSDUP VERIFY command does * * not release retained internal locks. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** In the reported problem the customer was running a DFHCSDUP UPGRADE command against a DFHCSD to add, modify and delete IBM supplied definitions following a CICS upgrade. The UPGRADE command was failing with message DFH5142 and DFH5286. Then a DFHCSDUP VERIFY command was issued, but this failed to report any problems. In this case the problem was a retained lock for a record on the DFHCSD, but the code in DFHDM09 procedure SKTYP was branching around the lock record logic which would have identified the retained lock. Keywords: 5142 5286 msgDFH5142 msgDFH5286
Problem conclusion
DFHDM09 has been changed in procedure SKTYP to correctly execute the lock record logic.
