Error description

  • You are doing TASK or TASKRMI views with a scope that
includes some MAS regions that have thousands of tasks queued
in MXT and/or TCLASS waits. These views could be initiated
from the WUI or an API program or RTA . You are not specifying
that queued tasks should not be included. ( e.g you are not
indicating NO in the WUI TASK view 'Include Queued Tasks __'
filter line. And you are not specifying PARM('INCL_QUEUED(NO).')
in an API Get command.) You find that the QR TCB on the MAS is
being monopolized by the CONL or CONA tasks for several seconds.
During that time, other tasks in that MAS accrue several
seconds of QRMODDLY time (waiting for re-dispatch on the QR.)
    .
There are some ways to make more efficient the gathering of
the information for the TASK and TASKRMI views such that the
CONL or CONA task on the MAS uses about half as much QR TCB
    time.
    .
    Additional Symptoms: INCL_QUEUED dispatchable DISPWTT

Local fix

  • Indicate 'Include Queued Tasks' NO on the WUI or specify
PARM('INCL_QUEUED(NO).') on the API Get . (This capability is
    provided by PK65553 .)

    * and there are tasks queued for MXT or *

    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this *
    * APAR, all MASes must be restarted. Note *
    * that the restarts do not need to occur at *
    *                 the same time.                               *
    ****************************************************************
When TASK or TASKRMI records are requested, CPSM issues multiple
calls to CICS to retrieve information to build the records. For
tasks that are queued for MXT and TCLASS, there is no need to
request statistics and monitoring information from CICS, as
there will be no data for queued tasks.

Currently, CPSM issues an unnecessary call for CICS statistics
information when building TASKRMI records for queued tasks, and
an unecessary call for CICS monitoring information when building
TASK or TASKRMI records for queued tasks. This will increase
    processing times during these requests.

Problem conclusion

  • Method EYU0NQG1 (NQG1) has been updated to bypass the call for
CICS statistics information when building TASKRMI records if the
task being processed is queued for MXT or TCLASS.

Method EYU0NCL7 (NCL7) has been updated to bypass the call for
CICS monitoring information when building TASK or TASKRMI
records if the task being processed is queued for MXT or TCLASS.
