Error description

  • Problem similar to the one described in PK83174. However in this
case the command is a CEMT SET TSQ(*) DELETE, which results in a
true SET, which then results in an attempt to overwrite ERDSA
and an Abend0c4. The S0C4 occurns when invalid values cause
module DFHEMT56(UK49670) +X'1832' to overwrite the ERDSA
    storage.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CEMT S TSQ(*) DELETE results in an *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
An attempt to delete more than 32767 tsqueues using CEMT SET
TSQUEUE(*) DELETE results in a storage violation. This is
because a multiply halfword instruction in DFHEMT56 causes a
large negative value to be used as an offset into storage, and
so an attempt is made to write into ERDSA.
    Additional Keywords: DFHEIN56

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEMT56 has been changed to limit the number of elements being
set for CEMT SET TSQUEUE to 32766. If the number of elements is
greater than or equal to 32767, a "too many elements" message is
displayed and no tsqueues will be deleted by the SET request.
