Error description
DFHSTUP abends 0C9 when attempting to calculate average time CICS was SOS for the EUDSA. The dump revealed CICS failed in DFHSTSMX base level at offset x'3776' on a DSGR @08,@07 instruction. Reg7=00000000 at the time. It was attempting to calculate average time CICS was SOS in the EUDSA. From the dump CICS appears to have been SOS for 00:00:11.6137, and the output shows CICS was suspended for storage 37 times and field "Times went short on storaqe" is zero. The problem is we have a "Total time SOS" value, but the times went sos field is zero and this causes the 0c9. Additional Keywords: KIXREVRJS

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Abend0C9 from DFHSTUP when * * calculating average time in SOS. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Abend0c9 from DFHSTUP when DFHSTUSM or DFHSTSMX attempts to calculate the average time in short-on-storage for a DSA. DFHSTUSM is called when processing data for a normal collection interval. In this case the problem only occurs when the DSA is SOS across a statistics interval collection, or an EOD (End of Day) collection and does not go SOS again before the collection interval ends. DFHSTSMX is called for SUMMARY report processing. In this case the problem will only occur if a DSA is SOS across a statistics interval collection, or EOD collection and the time period for which the SUMMARY report will process records does not include the time before the statistics are collected when the DSA actually went SOS or any further periods of SOS for the DSA. The abend 0c9 is caused because the number of times the DSA went SOS is zero although the time in SOS for the DSA is non-zero. Additional keywords: abends0c9 s0c9

Comments
DFHSTUP has been altered so that it will not attempt to divide by zero in the calculation of average time in SOS for a DSA.
