    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: EXEC CICS ASSIGN ABCODE returns a value *
    *                      of NULLs.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    An EXEC CICS START command is function shipped to a remote
    region which is shutting down, so the START is rerouted to a
    second region by the dynamic router program DFHDSRP, where it is
    executed successfully.
    A subsequent EXEC CICS ASSIGN ABCODE command returns a value of
    x'00000000'. The initial failure to function ship the START
    request had not left an ABEND code in field ABNDCODE, which is
    inspected by the ASSIGN ABCODE command, however the command
    should have returned blanks rather than zeros.

Problem conclusion

  • EXEC CICS ASSIGN ABCODE processing has been changed so that in
    the reported error scenario blanks rather than nulls will be
    returned to the user.
