Error description
You have a workload that spans LPARs and you have upgraded one of your LPARs to have a CICS TS 4.1 CMAS, and the LMAS's are all running CPSM 4.1 agent code. The CICS regions are still running CICS TS 3.1. The 2nd LPAR has not been changed. The CMAS and all CICS regions are at the CICS TS 3.1 release. You find that the LPAR that has not been migrating has it's CPU usage increase substantially, while the CPU usage on the LPAR with the 4.1 code decrease. It appears that the load count (WSVE_LOAD_CNT) on the TARGET regions running the R4.1 agent code is incremented incorrectly. . Additional Symptoms: . You may also notice unexpected Routing Load values in the WUI. The Routing Load displayed on the "Active workload target distribution factors" view EYUSTARTWLMAWAOR.TABULAR2 comes from table WLMATARG field ROUTINGLOAD. This is field named WLMATARG_ROUTINGLOAD, which in turn comes from the AOR Descriptor field WAOR_CURRTASKS. . Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVGJT

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICSPlex SM V4R1M0 Users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CPSM WLM routing may be invalid when * * non-terminal STARTs are routed in a * * CPSM workload that is not running * * optimized. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this * * APAR, all MASes acting as CPSM WLM routing * * regions must be restarted. Note that the * * restarts do not need to occur at the same * * time. * **************************************************************** When a non-terminal START is routed to a target region, a count of 1 is added to the target region's WAOR_CURRTASKS count by the routing region. This count is not decremented when the START ends, causing the WAOR_CURRTASKS value to be incorrect until the next hearbeat updates the WAOR with the correct task count in the target region. Since the WAOR_CURRTASKS value is used to set the load weight for a target region when the CPSM workload is not running optimized, the invalid WAOR_CURRTASKS value will result in an invalid load weight being assigned to the target region.
Problem conclusion
Method EYU0WDIN (WDIN) has been updated to not increment the WAOR_CURRTASKS value from the routing region when a non-terminal START is directed to a target region.
