    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: SVC26 call is made under the QR TCB *
    * rather than the FO. *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When issuing an EXEC CICS SET FILE OPEN request against a
    non-RLS file that is using dynamic allocation, a request to
    VSAM is necessary to get catalog information. This VSAM
    request is an SVC26 (locate) and is being done under the QR
    TCB. If VSAM takes a while to respond then CICS will appear
    to hang during that time as the QR awaits the response.
    VSAM calls should be done under the FO TCB.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHFCNO has been altered to ensure that the SVC26 call is
    made under the FO TCB.
