PM17249: CICS REXX XCTL COMMAND DOES NOT FREE STORAGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• CICS Shared Storage is not released when using CICS REXX to XCTL
  to Interactive User Interface program IESFPEP. CICS REXX modules
  CICLOAD and CICPLGM issue Shared Storage getmains and do not
  issue freemain at task termination.

  An XCTL to program IESFPEP will cause a storage leak.
  Rexx/CICS code that would have FREEMAIN'd previously
  GETMAIN'd SHARED storage is not driven.  This could lead
  to a short on storage situation with DFHSM0131 being
  issued.

Problem conclusion

• Rexx/CICS code has been modified to FREEMAIN SHARED storage in
  the event of a Rexx exec XCTL'ing to IESFPEP.
