PM17588: MBRN ABEND AS A RESULT OF THE ERROROFFSET VALUE IN THE CIH HAVING A VALUE OF X'103A0' AFTER PRESSING PF8 KEY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Getting a MBRN abend as a result of the ErrorOffset value in the
  CIH having a value of  x'103A0'. According to the Bridge Work
  Element at the time of the abend, the value in the vector's
  input message buffer is x'10400'(decimal 66560). The test when
  compared max_commarea size of 32763 fails. That's when we get
  the invalid bridge vector. The data shows that the successful
  message contains a CIH header followed by a BRMQ receive map
  vector with
  vector data. This occurs after pressing a PF8 key

  The CICS/MQ Link3270 Bridge code does not allow for the
  processing of receive map vectors which contain only AID key
  values and no data. As a consequence applications may abend MBRN
  with accompanying message "DFHMQ0781E Invalid Bridge Vector".

Problem conclusion

• DFHMQBP0 is altered so that the logic which processes ADS fields
  is only executed for receive map vectors which actually contain
  an ADS.
