Error description

  • A test program that includes MQSeries calls is compiled using
    CICSTS4.1 Libraries and it results in the following binder
    errors:
    IEW2459W INCLUDED MEMBER CSQCSTUB FAILED TO RESOLVE REFERENCE.
    IEW2467E SYMBOL CSQCSTUB REMAINS UNRESOLVED.

    In CICS TS3.2 and 4.1 MQ stubs were packaged into DFHMQSTB and
    CSQCSTUB was one of the aliases.
    .
    It is the CALL to 'CSQCSTUB' which is the problem. This is an
    unsupported call and only works with the WMQ version of CSQCSTUB
    because the CSECT name of that version of the stub is
    'CSQCSTUB'. In contrast, the CICS owned version of the stub,
    DFHMQSTB, (alias CSQCSTUB) has a CSECT name of 'DFHMQSTB', thus
    when it is called the 'CSQCSTUB' label cannot be resolved. An
    explicit CALL to CSQCSTUB is not one of the CALL types that is
    supported in CSQCSTUB.
    .
    Additionally, there were prior calls ( CALL 'MQOPEN' , CALL
    'MQPUT' and CALL 'MQCLOSE' ) that established addressablility to
    the stub, therefore a CALL 'CSQCSTUB' was not needed.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The CICS owned CICS-WMQ stub, DFHMQSTB, *
    * does not support the 'CALL CSQCSTUB' *
    * statement for COBOL static calls. This *
    *                      results in messages IEW2459W and        *
    *                      IEW2467E.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Using CICS-WMQ compile/link-edit decks which were created prior
    to CICS TS Version 4.1 with the CICS owned CICS-WMQ stub,
    DFHMQSTB, produces binder error messages MSGIEW2467E and
    MSGIEW2459W.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHMQSTB has been altered to include a CSECT definition for
    CSQCSTUB.
