The autoinstall program DFHZATDX or DFHZATDY is not called
when a shipped terminal is being autoinstalled and clashes
with an already installed local terminal id. Instead DFHZATS
will abend transaction CITS with code AZVE.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHZATS has been altered to allow the autoinstall exit to be
driven when a shipped terminal id clashes with a local
    terminal id.

The CICS Transaction Server for z/OS Version 4 Release 1
Customization Guide, SC34-7001-01 has been altered in
Chapter 14 ('Writing a program to control autoinstall of
shipped terminals') under the heading of 'Installing shipped
terminals and connections' to include local terminals in the
list of terminal types that will result in the exit being
driven if there is a clash with the name of the shipped
    definition.
The first paragraph has been altered to say:

"Because your autoinstall control program is invoked for
shipped terminal connections, you can use it to reset the
TERMINAL (or CONNECTION) attribute of a shipped definition to
an alias, thereby avoiding conflicts with names of remote
terminals, local terminals and connections already installed in
    the AOR."

The following paragraph has been deleted:

"If the name of a shipped definition clashes with the name of
a local terminal or connection installed in the AOR, the install
is rejected, and the autoinstall control program is not
    invoked."

Under the sub-heading 'CICS-generated aliases' the text has been
changed to include local terminals as follows:

"The autoinstall control program is invoked once for each
shipped terminal or connection definition to be installed. If
CICS detects that the name on a shipped definition clashes with
the name of a remote terminal, local terminal or connection
already installed in the AOR, it generates an alias TERMID and
passes it to the control program in field
    SELECTED_SHIPPED_TERMID of the communications area."

The following paragraph has been added to the end of the
section 'Installing shipped terminals and connections':

"If the autoinstall control program selects a terminal name
that clashes with the name of a local terminal, then the request
is rejected and the autoinstall control program is not invoked
    again."
