Error description

  • After applying PM08681 several customers have
reported the following abend in DFHTFIQ:
DFHTF0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred
at offset X'058C' in module DFHTFIQ.
    PIDS/5655M1500 LVLS/650 MS/DFHTF0001 RIDS/DFHTFIQ
    PTFS/HCI6500 AB/S00C4 AB/UAKEA ADRS/0000058C

    Additional symptoms:
DFHTFIQ is attempting to increment a storage violation
    count- SET_TERMINAL_FACILITY COUNT_STORAGE_VIOLATION(YES)
R10 the tctte pointer contains 000A0000.
With XM tracing off, module DFHZTSP is setting
    XM_TXN_FACILITY_TOKEN to a value of x'000A0000'
a local fix for this problem is to turn on
    XM level 1 tracing.

    Second problem
    --------------
When installing a remote terminal using EXEC CICS CREATE
or CEDA INSTALL the terminal associated with the
task is not released on task termination and a
    hang occurs.

    ****************************************************************
There are two problems caused by code added in APAR PM08681
to clear the facility token when issuing a freemain
for a surrogate terminal in the DFHZTSP SKELCOM code.

In cases when the principal facility is the surrogate
terminal, the SKELCOM code sets the facility token
to nulls when XM tracing it turned ON. However, when
XM tracing is turned OFF the facility token is set
to the value within the 4 bytes at address X'00000000'
This typically has a value other than nulls.
If CICS detects a storage violation in task storage
during task termination there is an attempt to update
the TCTTE storage violation count using the invalid
facility token as the TCTTE address which resulted in an
    abend0C4 in DFHTFIQ.

When a CEDA INSTALL or EXEC CICS CREATE request is made to
install a remote terminal the terminal associated with the
task issuing the request hangs on task termination.
In this case the facility token should not have been
cleared in SKELCOM because the principal facility was
the terminal associated with the CEDA or EXEC CICS
    request rather than the surrogate.

Problem conclusion

  • UK56576

DFHZTSP has been changed to clear the current transaction's
    facility token correctly when appropriate.
