    * service provider fails with INVREQ *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    INVREQ RESP2=13 is issued when a JAVA Web service provider
    invokes the CREATE method of the JCICS SOAPFAULT CLASS passing a
    detail string which is greater than 256 characters.
    A SOAPFAULT_CREATE/INVALID INVALID_DETAIL trace entry is also
    issued out of DFHPISF.
    If the ROLE, FAULTACTOR or FAULTSTR options are used and are
    greater than 256 characters then they will suffer truncation.
    The SOAPFAULT may present differently.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHPISF has been changed so that a CICS Web service provider,
    written in JAVA, may specify a detail string greater than
    256 characters when creating a SOAP fault.
    After applying this fix, strings associated with options
    ROLE, FAULTACTOR and FAULTSTR will not be truncated.
