Error description

  • You are using the WUI to update the CICSPlex definition. You are
changing Region Status server parameters and receive an SVC dump
    out of the CMAS.
    .
Transaction WMGR is being abended with an AICA code for
    exceeding the ICVR value.
    .
The messages in the log are similar to the following:
    .

The problem is with WPUD, but the AICA could occur in any method
that is part of the path that we happen to be in when CICS steps
    in to AICA the task.
    .
In the trace, the MAL that fails will be for function VIEWCLST
and with a DEBUG text of WPUDXCLV.

    ****************************************************************
Method WPUD is called under the Workload Manager Long-Running
task to process changes to CICSplex and CICS system definitions.
Part of this process includes browsing the WLM Remote TOR (RTOR)
cache list and activating or deactivating sysplex optimization
for TORs which take part in a sysplex optimized workload. If a
TOR is not currently enabled for sysplex optimization, this code
is bypassed. A logic error causes the cache list browse to be
restarted instead of retrieving the next record in the list if a
TOR in the list is not enabled for sysplex optimization. This
causes the observed abend, as the browse restarts every time the
    disabled TOR is encountered.

Problem conclusion

  • Module EYU0WPUD was modified to retrieve the next record
instead of restarting the cache list browse when processing
a TOR which is not enabled for sysplex optimization.
