PM30853: ALLOW EJBS DEVELOPED AGAINST WAS 6.1 RUNTIME TO BE DEPLOYED IN CICS

APAR status

Error description

• With WAS 6.1 and CICS 3.2 the generated STUB from RAD
  got the following error
  the method
  doesJaccNeedsEJBArguments is not found from class
  com.ibm.ejs.container.EJSContainer.
  
  The actual message is called:
  java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com/ibm/ejs/container/EJSContainer.
  doesJaccNeedsEJBArguments(Lcom/ibm/ejs/container/EJSWrapperBase;
  ) .
  

Local fix

• with usermod ANARAG0 $JCI650D A1 - change to the CICS EJB
  container - it will allow EJBs developed against WAS 6.1 runtime
  to be deployed into CICS
  

Problem summary

  Develop an EJB program in Rational Application Developer,
  deploy EJB Jar file into CICS and then call the EJB. CICS
  gets "NoSuchMethodError" because the CICS container code
  has no implementation for doesJaccNeedsEJBArguments()
  method.
  

Problem conclusion

• The EJSContainer jar has been modified to add support for the
  doesJaccNeedsEJBArguments() method and additional
  implementations for the preInvoke() methods.
  

Temporary fix

• FIX AVAILABLE BY PTF ONLY
