PM31464: CPSM 4.1 WUI FAILS TO INITIALIZE IF TCPIPADDRESS(INADDR_ANY) SPECIFIED IN WUI PARMS

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Your pre-4.1 WUI initializes fine using TCPIPADDRESS(INADDR_ANY)
  in the EYUWUI DD input parms.  When you upgrade to 4.1, you
  receive messages in the EYULOG
  
  EYUVS0205E applid Failed to install TCP/IP service (EYUWUI).
  EYUVS0005S applid CICSPlex SM Web User Interface initialization
             failed. (CICS Web Interface initialization.)
  
  
  The WUI region then shuts down immediately.
  
  The problem is that you have TCPIPADDRESS(INADDR_ANY), and CPSM
  is trying to build a TCPIPService definition incorrectly.

Local fix

• Remove the TCPIPADDRESS(INADDR_ANY) parm if it is not needed.
  You only would need this if you have multiple TCPIP stacks on
  your LPAR and want the WUI to attempt to listen on all stacks.

  * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this    *
  *                 APAR, all Web User Interface servers must be *
  *                 recycled to pick up the new code.  Note that *
  *                 the restarts do not need to be done at the   *
  *                 same time.                                   *

  CICS does not accept INADDR_ANY for the HOST parameter on a
  CREATE request when the CICS release is 0660 or above.  A logic
  error in VWXI (EYU0VWXI - WUI CWI control initialise)
  incorrectly sets the HOST parameter to INADDR_ANY when the CICS
  release is 0660 or higher and the TCPIPADDRESS(INADDR_ANY)
  parameter is specified.
  

Problem conclusion

• Module EYU0VWXI (VWXI - - WUI CWI control initialise) was
  modified to set the HOST parameter to HOST(ANY) when the
  TCPIPADDRESS(INADDR_ANY) is specified as an EYUWUI
  initialization parameter.
