Error description
We are migrating to CTS version 4.1 on Z/OS 1.11 and wish to use the new RACF changes notification feature (RACF ENF). We are starting a transaction on a CICS which starts another transaction with the USERID parameter. When the second transaction starts on the same CICS or a CICS on the same LPAR it is aware if RACF changes but when the second transaction is shipped to a CICS on a different LPAR it gets the old RACF profile. Upon checking the parameters of the ENF macro, it seems that CICS does not listen to sysplex wide ENFs (as mentioned in parameter XSYS). Is there a way for CICS to listen on other LPARs ENFs?
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CICS fails to receive RACF type 71 * * event notifications which are issued * * from another system in the sysplex. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A CICS application does an EXEC CICS START specifying the USERID parameter. On another LPAR a RACF change is made to the userid specified in the command, but CICS is not aware of this change. The old RACF profile for this userid continues to be used unless the USRDELAY SIT parameter comes into effect, resulting in a full signon the next time the userid is used. During startup DFHDMSVC uses the ENFREQ macro to listen for RACF ENF notifications but the macro does not specify the XSYS parameter so its value defaults to NO. This means that only signals from the local system are received by CICS.
Problem conclusion
DFHDMDM has been updated to add a parameter when calling DFHDMSVC to indicate that RACF notification should be sysplex wide. DFHDMSVC has been updated to add the XSYS parameter to the ENFREQ call, and to set the parameter to YES when this is requested by DFHDMDM.
