Error description

  • Your CICS region issues message:
    .
    DFHDS0002 A severe error (code X'0204') has occurred in
      module DFHDSTCB
    .
    The associated user task will then hang in a RESUMED EARLY
    state. The problem occurs for a task that just took an abend0C4
    in DFHPISN. DFHPISN's recovery routine gets control for the 0C4,
    and on exit, sets ABTERM_YES and returns to it's caller,
    DFHPISN1 who is defined as OPENAPI. DFHPISN1 issues a
    DFHPC TYPE=ABEND,ABCODE=APIL. However, during abend processing,
    the DFHABAB attempts to get storage for a TACB and suspends on
    the SMLOCK. Dispatcher now detects that the task is in an
    invalid state, running ABTERM_ALLOWED and the DFHDS0002 0204 is
    issued. It appears that DFHPISN1 should first switch to
    running_abterm_not_allowed, or do an EXEC CICS ABEND so that
    DFHEIP takes care of the switching.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHDS0002 is issued when processing *
    *                      APIL abend by DFHPISN1.                 *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When processing a soap message, DFHPISN1 calls DFHPISN to parse
    the soap message. If the domain call response is either
    exception or disaster, DFHPISN1 will trigger the abend process
    in ABTERM_ALLOWED status.
    The abend process uses DFHPC macro which is vulnerable to cause
    the critical TCBs (such as QR) being suspended or terminated.
    During the abend process, suspension such as SMLOCK will lead
    to the dispatcher detecting the invalid status and cause
    msgDFHDS0002 message to be issued.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHPISN1 and DFHPISN2 have been changed to make a task status
    switch to ABTERM_NOT_ALLOWED before the abend process.
