Error description

  • Defect 34532
    When an application accessing an IMS DBCTL database encounters
    an abend and the L8 TCB is abended the counts of tasks using
    DBCTL
    is not decremented.
    This causes any request to disconnect from IMS to suspend
    indefinitely, including a CICS shutdown request.

    When an application accessing an IMS DBCTL database encounters
    an abend and the L8 TCB is abended the count of tasks using
    DBCTL is not decremented. This causes any request to disconnect
    from IMS to suspend indefinitely, including a CICS shutdown
    request.
    

Problem conclusion

  • DFHDBAT has been changed to ensure its environment
    has been correctly recovered following an abend.
    
    The CICS Transaction Server V4.2 Trace Entries (SC34-7187-00)
    has been updated to add a new trace entry to the table of
    DBCTL and DL/I trace points
