Error description

  • DFHKEDS CREATE_TCB call failed with an ATTACH_ERROR. The return
code from the ATTACHX call was x'20', indicating that the system
was not in subspace mode but ADDRENV=SUBSP was set.   This was
due to a BSG instruction which should have switched to subspace
not picking up the correct ALET and therefore switching to
basespace.

A superfluous instruction was present in the DFHSMSRI macro in
the SWITCH_SUBSPACE function. This meant the correct ALET was
not loaded into a register before issuing a BSG instruction.
Therefore under some circumstances CICS did not switch to
subspace mode, and attaching a TCB with ADDRENV=SUBSP failed.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The DFHSMSRI macro was corrected to remove the superfluous
instruction, and the relevant modules recompiled.
