Error description

  • You receive the follow error message when installing a pipeline
    resource:
    DFHPI0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset
    X'65AA' in module DFHPIPL.

    The failing instruction is:
    D50C 8000 3E82 | CLC     X'0'(X'D',R8),X'E82'(R3)
    This instruction is failing because R8, which is FFFFFFFF is
    bad.
    The abend 0C4 is happening in the populate_soap11_node_element
    procedure in DFHPIPL. This portion of code does not handle XML
    comments very well. This problem was exposed when the pipeline
    config file was being parsed. The pipeline config file contains
    comments after the last open XML tag. When there is another open
    tag after the comments, the 0C4 does not occur.

Local fix

  • Remove comments from Pipeline config file.

    * has comment line under tag *
    *                      <cics_soap_1.1_handler> and no more     *
    * xml element in the rest of file. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    DFHPIPL is installing a requester pipeline. The
    <cics_soap_1.1_handler> or <cics_soap_1.2_handler> is empty
    except for a comment and there are no further elements within
    the config file. In this case, DFHPIPL incorrectly determines
    that the element is not empty and attempts to process the
    expected headerprogram element, resulting in abend0C4.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHPIPL has been modified to correctly determine that the
    <cics_soap_1.1_handler> or <cics_soap_1.2_handler> is empty
    in this case.
