Error description
You are invoking CICS and receive message DFHPI0914E WEBSERVICE Webservice is UNUSABLE because: the WSBind file is corrupt. This same WSBind file works in another CICS region. The WSBind was transferred incorrectly and is unusable. However, subsequent commands such as INQuire WebService or a Pipeline Scan result in a DFHPI0001 An abend (code 0c4/akea) has occurred at offset x'7642' in module DFHPIWR. The abend0c4 occurs in DFHPIWR + x'7642' because reg5 is corrupt. Additional code will be added to DFHPIWR to prevent the abend0c4 and instead issue a message warning the user. Local fix
upload the wsbind file in binary format.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message DFHPI0001 is issued by DFHPIWR * * for an 0C4 ABEND following an EXEC CICS * * INQUIRE WEBSERVICE request or a * * Pipeline scan. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The DFHPIWR inquire_webservice and get_next_webservice functions return data about a Webservice, including some attributes extracted from the DFHICM section of the WSBind file. If the offsets to the DFHICM section are corrupted, which can happen if the WSBind file is transferred with FTP using ascii format instead of binary format, an abend occurs when the incorrect offsets lead to fetch-protected storage being accessed. An abend can also occur in the DFHPIWR initialise_webservice function because of corruption of the DFHICM offsets. Additional Keywords: MSGDFHPI0001 PI0001 S0C4 ABEND0C4
Problem conclusion
DFHPIWR is changed to validate the offsets to the DFHICM data in the WSBind file as part of the DFHPIWR initialise_webservice function. If they are invalid the Webservice status is set to UNUSABLE. The DFHPIWR inquire_webservice and get_next functions are changed to bypass extracting the DFHICM data if the Webservice status is UNUSABLE. The attributes affected are MAPPINGLEVEL, MAPPINGVNUM and MAPPINGRNUM.
