Error description

  • In CICS TS 42 DFHMIRS is defined as threadsafe but when DFHCSD
is shared with older cics versions it causes problems, because
DFHMIRS was QUASIRENT.DFHMIRS should be added in the DFHCOMPx to
avoid errors.

When sharing CSD with different releases after migrated from
CICS/TS 3.2 to CICS/TS 4.2 by running DFHCSDUP UPGRADE,
DFHMIRS was made threadsafe at CICS/TS 4.2 but it is not in
the DFHCOMPE compatibility group.

An program defined with OPENAPI and THREADSAFE does a DPL to
the remote CICS 3.2 region, DFHMIRS triggered and run under
OPEN TCB because the DFHMIRS was installed as THREADSAFE from
the shared CSD. DFHMIRS then calls terminal control program
program DFHZARQ, and ABEND with AZI2 because the program
logic is not threadsafe.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHCURDX has been changed to add DFHMIRS into compatibility
group DFHCOMPE at CICS/TS 4.2.

Temporary fix

  • FIX AVAILABLE BY PTF ONLY
