APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • You are using an XFCRLSCO exit program to allow a dsname to
be open to CICS as two different files at the same time. One
is an RLS file. The other is a non-RLS read-only file.
When you quiesce the RLS file, the non-RLS read-only file
    is closed unexpectedly.

    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS Users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: XFCRLSCO has been used to open both RLS *
    * and non-RLS files against the same data *
    * set. A QUIESCE of that data set affects *
    * both the RLS and non-RLS files. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
Global User Exit XFCRLSCO has been used to open both RLS and
non_RLS files against the same data set. A QUIESCE request is
then received against that data set, and DFHFCQU PROCESS_QUIESCE
runs to close the open files. CICS decides that there are
one or more RLS file open against the quiescing data set, and
then proceeds to close all files open against that data set.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHFCQU has been modified in the PROCESS_QUIESCE and
    FCQU_ENABLE_FILE_FOR_UNQUIESCE routines to ensure that
    only RLS files are affected.
