Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Transaction hangs in a client when the * * TRANSID specified in the EXEC CICS * * LINK command does not exist in the * * server region over an IPIC connection. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The transaction number is returned in xmat_trannum and moved into issb_tran_number by the domain call. The mirror task starts and links to the user program which completes successfully. A second EXEC CICS LINK is received from the CTG client. The LINK request specifies a TRANSID that is not defined in the server region. DFHISRR does the DFHXMAT ATTACH which returns an EXCEPTION response with a reason of NOT_FOUND.Before DFHISRR checks the response from XMAT,the domain call moves xmat_trannum into issb_tran_number. The value moved is the transaction number returned from the previous XMAT ATTACH. Dfhisrr_conv_error is called for trace ID id_isrr_trans_not_found.If issb_tran_number is not zero then the code expects that the running task will SEND the IS7 back to the client. The task does not exist and no IS7 is sent to the CTG client causing it to wait until it TIMEOUT. Additional keywords: MSGDFHIS1025, IS1025
Problem conclusion
DFHISRR has been changed so that the values xmat_trannum and xmat_transaction_token are only moved into issb_tran_number and tran_token if the DFHXMAT ATTACH attaches a task.
