Error description
Customer installed new refresh and encounters the following error message: EYUXD0027E MAL XMSM can not be transformed. Metadata not available. This happens in the following scenarion: - Updating CMAS MP - Updating local CMAS - Restarting LMAS the first time. The LMAS was not updated. Message appears if the first LMAS disconnects If he starts the LMAS on the same PTF level the second time, no error message appears. CMAS LOG: EYUXL0015I ... Topology termination requested. Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICSPlex SM V4R1M0 and V4R2M0 Users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a CMAS is connected to a MAS that * * is at a lower maintenance level, * * message EYUXD0027E may be issued by the * * CMAS indicating that the XMSM or XMSX * * MALs cannot be transformed. The text * * of the message will be similar to * * either of the following: * * * * EYUXD0027E MAL XMSM cannot be * * transformed. Metadata * * not available. * * * * EYUXD0027E MAL XMSX cannot be * * transformed. Metadata * * not available. * * * * Note that if a message is issued, it * * will most likely be for XMSM and will * * most likely occur at MAS initialization * * or termination. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this * * APAR, all CMASes must be restarted. Note * * that the restarts do not need to occur at * * the same time. * **************************************************************** When a message argument list (MAL) is passed between a CMAS and a MAS, if the MAS is at a lower maintenence level, the CMAS must determine if fields within the MAL must be transformed to allow for the different maintenance levels. To do this, method EYU0MOMX (MOMX) calls method EYU0XLML (XLML). XLML then scans the metadata for the MAL to see if the TRANSFORM tag was specified. If not, XLML returns that indication to MOMX, which notes that the metatdata is not available, issues message EYUXD0027E, and then continues processing the MAL without performing any transformation. Depending upon whether there is data that needs to be transformed, this may result in other errors. For subsequent shipments of the MAL, MOMX recognizes that the metadata is not available and will continue without performing transformation, without issuing the EYUXD0027E message. When a message is issued in a MAS, method EYU0XMSM (XMSM) or EYU0XMSX (XMSX) is called. The message is issued locally and then it is provided to the CMAS for inclusion in the CMAS's EYULOG. Normally, the message is provided to the CMAS by placing it in a data area and then posting the XMLT task in the CMAS to take the request from the data area and process it. However, if the XMLT task fails, or is not available for use by the MAS (which is possible during MAS initialization or termination), then the MAS will ship the XMSM or XMSX MAL to the CMAS for processing. Since the metadata for the XMSM and XMSX MALs do not specify the TRANSFORM tag, the first time either is shipped to the CMAS, the CMAS will issue the EYUXD0027E message. As there is nothing within the XMSM and XMSX MALs that needs to be transformed, no additional error except the message will occur.
Problem conclusion
The metadata for the XMSM and XMSX MALs has been updated to include the TRANSFORM tag, indicating that no transformation is required for either MAL.
