Error description
Switching on Trace level 19 in WLM cause dynamic routing failures. There's a level 19 trace issued in WNAL immediately prior to method termination. It looks like it is causing WNAL_RESPONSE to be changed from OK, causing the program to think there has been an error so it quits with a method_failed response. This gets percolated all the way back up the chain to CICS who (in the case of DPLs) raises a PGMIDERR response to my DPL.
Local fix
Do not set WLMTRACE(19).

Your * * routing fails and message: * * . * * EYUWR0104E - CPSM Reports an * * unexpected Error on * * FUNCTION SM_SCOPE * * . * * is returned for a transaction route. A * * dynamic DPL receives RESP(PGMIDERR). * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this * * APAR, all MASes which function as routing * * regions in a workload managed by CPSM must * * be recycled to pick up the updated code. * * This includes any target regions which take * * part in a distributed workload, or which * * might request dynamic DPLs. Note that all * * MASes do not have to be restarted at the * * same time. * **************************************************************** A logic error in module EYU0WNAL (WNAL - WLM Process Algo- rithm) caused a RESPONSE=EXCEPTION and REASON=METHOD_FAILED to be returned after writing the trace entry for WLM Trace Level 19.
Problem conclusion
Module EYU0WNAL was updated to correct the logic error.
