Error description

  • TaskA is doing an inquire on the UOW associated with TaskB which
    is no longer in the system. The trace shows the INQUIRE_UOW is
    taking place. TaskB has simultaneously completed the commit
    processing of that very same UOW, making it no longer available.
    This results in the error DFHNQ0002 at X'0407' in DFHNQIB being
    issued.

    *                      issues message DFHNQ0002 A severe error *
    * (code X'0407') has occurred in module *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    An INQUIRE UOWENQ NEXT operation is performed against a UOW
    which has, simultaneously, just been committed and is therefore
    no longer in the system. This leads to the DFHNQ0002 message
    being issued.

Problem conclusion

  • Module DFHNQIB has been altered so that, if an INQUIRE_UOW call
    to DFHRMUW fails with a "not found" condition, an exception
    response is passed with a new reason code of nqib_uow_not_found,
    and will also attempt to find the next uow, if appropriate,
    when it is next called.
    Additionally DFHEIUOW has been altered to handle the new
    reason code, and then drive the logic to look for the next uow.
