    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CECI SET TRACETYPE and CECI INQUIRE *
    * TRACETYPE do not function as expected. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
A CECI SET TRACETYPE or CECI INQUIRE TRACETYPE command is
issued. CICS fails to correctly process the FLAGSET, STANDARD
or SPECIAL option specified in the command, and as a result this
option is discarded during an internal conversion. The
consequence of this is that whenever STANDARD or SPECIAL, or the
FLAGSET equivalents are tested for, the default logic path is
always taken. This results in the following behaviour; (1) CECI
SET TRACETYPE will always set standard tracing levels regardless
of the FLAGSET, STANDARD or SPECIAL option specified. (2) CECI
SET TRACETYPE will, in some cases, set the standard tracing
levels of other domains than the one(s) specified. (3) CECI
INQUIRE TRACETYPE will always return the special tracing levels
regardless of the FLAGSET, STANDARD or SPECIAL option specified.
    ADDITIONAL KEYWORDS: CETR

Problem conclusion

  • The CECI interpreter logic has been modified to ensure that the
specified FLAGSET, STANDARD or SPECIAL option is processed
    correctly.
