Error description

  • Running CPSM 4.2 in CMASs and WUIs, CPSM 4.2 loadlibs with CICS
4.1 in MASs, an abend 202-0C occurs while the abending task is
running on an L8 TCB. The following message is issued:
DFHAP0701 An abend (code 202/AKEB) has occurred in exit
program CJC9NLID at exit point XRSINDI.
The MVS Reg6 for the 202 is 30003128. Looking at Systrace we
see that prior to the 202 abend an 0C4-10 abend occurred in
IEAVEPST at offset x'1244' when EYU9NLID issued a POST (SVC 2)
followed by DFHDSAUT then issuing a POST (SSRV 12A). We then
enter the MVS POST routine who receives the abend 0C4 pic10
which causes the abend202-0C to be issued.

    * MAS agent initialization will terminate. *
    ****************************************************************
If transaction isolation is in effect in a MAS, CPSM's
Global User Exits (GLUEs) must perform a state switch to
avoid abend S202 when executing an MVS POST in subspace
mode. To facilitate this, module EYU9XLEV (XLEV - Kernel
Linkage Environment Initialization) copies the Storage Manager
Isolation Token (CSASMITK) to the Kernel Linkage Work Area
    (XLWA).
EYU9XLEV was not defined as a release specific module so the
same version was loaded regardless of the CICS release which a
MAS was executing. Thus the version of EYU9XLEV assembled with
the CICS 0670 macro libraries was executed regardless of the
release of CICS. However the offset of CSASMITK changed in
CICS Transaction Server V4.2, so MASes executing prior release
of CICS copied the Isolation Token from the wrong location. As
a result the space switch failed in CPSM's GLUEs, and the MVS
POST SVC was issued while in subspace mode.

Problem conclusion

  • Module EYU9XLEV was defined as a release sensitive program
so each supported CICS release will load and execute a version
which was compiled with the appropriate CICS macro libraries.
