Error description

  • ERROR DESCRIPTION:
    In a TOR-AOR configuration, user transactions abend ASRA in the
    AOR. CICS automatically issues a transaction dump. On random
    occasions, the transaction dumps do not fit into the CICS dump
    data set. Using a dump dat set with a size of 10 cylinders or
    100 cylinders, the problem still occurs.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    User transactions abend ASRA in a CICS region. CICS writes out
    the transaction dump data to the dump, but occasionally the data
    does not fit into the dump data set.
    DFHTCXDF uses a signed halfword to calculate the length of the
    TIOA which causes propagation of the sign bit into the top 2
    bytes of the length field. This results in excessive data being
    formatted.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHTCXDF is amended so that correct amount of terminal storage
    is written out to the dump dataset.
