Error description
The CICS TS DFHEDAP program and non-terminal mode CEDA commands do not support a change to the TYPETERM definition attribute ALTscreen( ). The change is ignored and no updating of the ALTscreen attribute occurs. The CEDA terminal mode update of ALTscreen( ) does not reset the CSD record's ALTscreen attribute values to zeros. DFHEDAP and CEDA terminal mode/non-terminal mode should process TYPETERM ALTscreen( ) in a manner consistent with EXEC CICS CSD. ADDITIONAL KEYWORDS: KIXREVRJS

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An RDO command passed to the DFHEDAP * * program interface to blank the * * ALTSCREEN attribute of a TYPETERM * * definition has no effect and ALTSCREEN * * remains unchanged. * * Similarly a non-panel mode CEDA command * * to blank ALTSCREEN has no effect. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When an RDO command is passed to the DFHEDAP program interface to change a TYPETERM resource's ALTSCREEN attribute to blanks it has no effect and the ALTSCREEN attribute remains unchanged. ALTER GROUP(name) TYPETERM(name) ALTSCREEN( , ) If the same RDO command is entered at a terminal from a clear screen as a CEDA line command it also has no effect. CEDA ALTER GROUP(name) TYPETERM(name) ALTSCREEN( , ) However, when CEDA displays the TYPETERM resource on a panel and the ALTSCREEN values are overtyped with blanks the change is accepted. For example... ALTSCreen ==> 027 , 132 0-255 ALTSCreen ==> , 0-255
Problem conclusion
A change has been made so that the DFHEDAP program interface or a non-panel mode CEDA command will now recognise a blank value for the ALTSCREEN attribute.
