Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICSPlex SM V4R1M0 and V4R2M0 Users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: You execute the CICS Discovery * * Library Adapter (DLA) program EYU9XDDA * * to generate IdML books mapping your * * CICSplex. When Tivoli Application * * Dependency Discovery Manager (TADDM) * * attempts to merge the output of the * * CICS DLA with the IdML books produced * * by the z/OS DLA, you find that the * * CICS DLA has appended extraneous * * characters to the NetID property if * * the discovered NETNAME is less than * * eight characters in length. You also * * find that the IdML books created by * * the CICS DLA do not contain the CICS * * Transaction Server version of your * * CICS regions. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this * * APAR, rerun the CICS DLA program EYU9XDDA * * from libraries containing the updated load * * module. * **************************************************************** The CICS DLA extracted the NetID value from the third through the tenth characters of the Network Unit of Work string for the CPSM MAS Agent long-running task. If the network ID was less than eight characters in length, extraneous characters were ap- pended to the true value. The CICS DLA did not write a cdm:VersionString element for CICSRegion objects.
Problem conclusion
The CICS DLA program EYU9XDDA was modified to obtain the NetID value from the ONETWKID (Originating network ID) attribute of the MAS Agent long-running task if available. If the CICS region is executing a version of CICS which does not report task association data, the NetID is extracted from the Network Unit of Work, and truncated to the true Network ID length. CICS DLA subprograms EYU9XDD0 and EYU9XDD3 were modified to generate cdm:VersionString elements for each discovered CICS region.
