Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Error message DFHWB0723 occurs when an * * HTTP web request contains asterisk and * * client gets response URL not found. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** DFHWBUR LOCATE_URIMAP treats asterisks in a CICS incoming HTTP request as invalid. Thus, when a request with asterisks arrives, CICS will bypass matching any URIMAP, and return an exception. If DFHWBAAX is used as the TCPIPService analyser program, then the client will receive a URL not found response. If DFHWBADX is used as the TCPIPService analyser program, the symptoms seen will vary, and may include msgDFHWB0723. The client will receive a '400 Bad Request' response. Additional Keywords: WB0723 msgWB0723
Problem conclusion
DFHWBUR has been changed to handle asterisk as normal character in HTTP request and continues process the request as normal.
