Error description

  • While running CPSM, a transaction reaches its max allowed
    elapsed time and is forcepurged. This results in the following
    messages being issued:
    EYUPN0007W cmasname Notify created for RTADEF
    rtadef by MRM, Context=plex, Target=masname, Sev=HS,
    Resource=TASK, Key=12345, Text=ABCD hit max - purging..

    EYUPN0109E cmasname Resource modification for
    Context=plex, Target=masname, Resource=TASK, Key=12345,
    Evaldef=evaldef failed, RESP=0000005B, RESP2=00000001,
    EIBFN=5E04, ATTRIBUTE=N/A

    On the EYUPN0109E message the EIBFN 5E04 is for a SET TASK.
    The RESP 5B indicates a TASKIDERR and RESP2 1 indicates
    'The task cannot be found.'.

    In the trace we see the following exceptions occurring:

    It showed that one byte of the task key in the NSGR MAL
    appeared to have been ORed with a blank (X'40').

    * The key (Task ID) in the message is *
    * correct, and the task is not removed. *

    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this *
    * APAR, all CMASes and MASes must be recycled *
    * to pick up the new code. Note that regions *
    * do not need to be brought down and restarted *
    * at the same time. *
    ****************************************************************
       When an RTADEF executing an EVALDEF with a modification order
    string becomes true, module EYU0PNAN (PNAN - RTA Notification
    Add) calls EYU0MOMB (MOMB - MOS Build MAL) to build a method
    Argument List (MAL) for the required modification. The MAL is
    built according to data defined in the MAL definition and the
    resource table for the target resource (TASK). Although the key
    for the TASK resource is a packed decimal field, the attribute
    definition in the TASK resource table defaulted to folding the
    value to upper case. When a byte in the packed key contained
    a value which mapped to a lower case character, it was trans-
    lated to upper case, effectively ORing the byte with x'40'.
    When CPSM attempted to FORCEPURGE the task,

         EXEC CICS SET TASK() FORCEPURGE

    returned RESP=91 (x'5B') RESP2=1, "The task cannot be found."

Problem conclusion

  • The definition of the TASK attribute of the TASK resource
    table was modified to include "uppercase='no'".
