Error description

  • A console has issued a route of a modify command to ALL CICS
    systems.
    For example: RO *ALL,F CICS*,CEMT SET TRANS(XXXX) DIS.
    Sometimes "IEE421I No response received from the following
    systems" is returned and sometimes the correct output is
    returned.
    .
    From the docs provided. The good case trace shows that the reply
    is sent to console ID 01000002 which is the value initially
    received by DFHZCNA in the CIBX field CIBXCNID.
    In the bad case, the reply is sent to console ID 03000012 which
    was obtain from field CIBXOCID.
    The cause seems to be related to whether the CICS console exists
    in the system.
    If not, it has to be autoinstalled see DFHZC5966 and DFHZC6935
    which appears to be determine whether the route is successful.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CICS does not respond correctly to a *
    *                      routed(RO*) modify command when CONSOLE *
    *                      is autoinstalled.                       *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    A console issues a route of modify command. The modify command
    comes into DFHZCNA via a CIB (Command Input Buffer). The CCE
    (Console Control Elements) scan runs.No CCE is found and
    autoinstall for consoles is enabled (AICONS=AUTO), a CWE
    (Console Work Element) is created with the wrong console ID.
    DFHZACT scans the CWE queue and attaches the CATA transaction.
    The transaction specified in the MODIFY command is attached and
    the response is sent back to the wrong console ID,the right
    console ID does not get the response.

    Additional keywords: msgIEE421I

Problem conclusion

  • DFHZCNA has been changed to initialise the Console Work Element
    with the right console ID, so that the response can be sent back
    to the right console.
