AP 1939 LEPT *EXC* - PTHREAD_CREATE_FAILED ERRNO(0) . There is obviously an error at the time of the AP 1939 trace but the Error Number is set to zero. It should contain a valid error number to assist in debug analysis.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CICS trace entry AP 1939 errno number * * left as zero. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** CICS is acting as a web service provider and is secured by SSL. A CWXN is trying to invoke SSL service and dispatcher detects a new pthread is required, but CICS fails to create a new one due to storage problem. An AP 1939 exception trace is written to report the failed pthread_create, however the errno parameter in the trace is left as zero. This is because the code in DFHLEPT to save the errno is deleted, as a result, the errno is left as zero in the trace. keyword: msgDFHSO0002
Problem conclusion
DFHLEPT and DFHLETRI are amended to report the errno and errno2 when CICS encounters error in creating a new pthread for SSL. The CICS Transaction Server for z/OS Version 4 Release 1 Trace Entries manual, SC34-7013-02, is updated as follows: Chapter 2. AP domain trace points: new style Change the following table entry: Point ID Module Lvl Type Data AP 1939 DFHLEPT Exc Pthread create failed 1. LEPT parameter list 2. KEPT_ERRNO 3. KEPT_ERRNO2
