PM74450: DUMPCODE ME0121 FORMATTING MESSAGE DFHPI0997 AFTER DTIMEOUT

Error description

• You are receiveing dumps when CICS issues a DTIMEOUT
  processing a PIPELINE task. A DFHPI0997 message may be issued,
  but the message text may contain random characters instead of
  the PIPELINE name.
  
  DFHPI0997 date time CICS TRAN PIPENAME The CICS
    pipeline manager has encountered an error: target program
    unavailable or abended.
  DFHPI0997 date time CICS TRAN ........ The CICS
    pipeline manager has encountered an error: target program
    unavailable or abended.
  
  A dump is produced for dumpcode ME0121, indicating that a
  MESSAGE COULD NOT BE FORMATTED.  The trace shows an exception
  entry:  ME FF37 MEFO  *EXC* INVALID-FORMAT
  
  Looking at the DFHPI0997 message in storage, it appears that the
  field containing the PIPELINE name is represented by random
  data, which is neither valid EBCDIC nor addressable storage.
  Depending on the value of the data, an ABEND may result.  In one
  case, the data contained the 'shift out' indicator for a double
  byte character set (DBCS).
  
  DFHPIPM is responsable for setting up msg_pipeline.  When
  DHFPIPM is called from DFHPIAP for INVOKE_STUB, msg_pipeline is
  not set up correctly.

  CICS is acting as a web service provider and the context-switch
  is performed during request processing. When request is received
  by CICS, source task CPIH is invoked which then attaches target
  task to handle this request. During the target task processing,
  DFHPIPM INVOKE_STUB is called and the variable 'msg_pipeline'
  doesn't get initialised.
  
  If a problem occurs during INVOKE_STUB that requires message
  DFHPI0997 to be issued. 'msg_pipeline' is used to pass the value
  of the pipeline name. Since this variable is not set up and
  contains a random value, the pipeline name in message DFHPI0997
  can not be printed out correctly. If this happens to contain a
  x'0E' or x'0F' then message DFHME0121 will be issued with a
  system dump due to finding invalid DBCS data in the message.

Problem conclusion

• DFHPIPM has been changed to make sure that the variable
  'msg_pipeline' can get set correctly.
