Error description

  • When using the WUI "Active tasks" view, after successfully
making an initial selection, if an invalid value is found in the
Task ID filter, an error message is issued informing the user
that the filter value is invalid. The sequence of events that
leads to this problem are as follows:

    1) The operator makes a selection in the "Active Tasks" view,
and receives the response for this selection.

    2) The operator makes another selection entering the name of a
transaction in the "TASK ID" filter field in order to filter the
results based on the transaction name.

    3) CPSM returns the prior result set along with the following
    messages:

EYUVC1263E Attribute (TASK) filter contains invalid data.
      EYUVC1280I 15 records collected at 01/10/2012 11:26:01.

along with the 15 records of Active tasks satisfying the
    previous request.

Since the WUI screen is not refreshed when this message is
issued and the results returned are from the prior selection,
an operator can assume these are the results from his
latest request and perform actions against the result
set which can lead to unpredictable results.

If an invalid value is entered for a filter attribute or
selection parameter on a WUI view display, for example typing
a character value for the Task ID filter of the EYUSTARTTASK
view, the server returns message EYUVC1263E, but does not in-
validate the previous result set. Therefore when the display
is rendered, it will contain the previously displayed data.

Problem conclusion

  • Module EYU0VAGT (VAGT - Get Resource Result Set) was updated
to invalidate the previous result set if an invalid filter at-
tribute or selection parameter is entered. This will cause the
view to be rendered with zero records displayed.
